Defund Testnet-3 Tools

The following downloads (Address Book + Snapshot) are for Defund Private Testnet-3.

Address Book

If your node is having problem connecting to peers, try using this address book.

Download address book

How to use

To use the address book. First stop your node, then download the addrbook.json file onto your machine. Then copy the addrbook to your config folder and restart your node. Detailed steps below.

1. Stop your node

2. Download address book file

3. Copy addrbook.json file to your config folder. If you have an existing addrbook.json that you want to keep, back up that file first.

4. Restart your node

Snapshot

Pruned – pruned snapshots are intended to be smaller and faster to download. These snapshots currently are created every 2 days or as needed.

The download URL is a permalink. The link will remain the same even though the daily file will be updated. The permalink allows you to incorporate it into your node creation automation script.

To use our snapshot, you’ll need to match your node settings to our snapshot setting initially in order to start syncing. Once your node is synced to latest block height, you can then change your pruning setting to other settings you desire.

Pruning settings

To use our snapshot, change the following settings

app.toml – file located in your .defund/config folder

pruning = “custom”
pruning-keep-recent = “1000”
pruning-keep-every = “0”
pruning-interval = “111”

config.toml – file located in your .defund/config folder

indexer = “null”

Note that the default indexer setting is “kv”.

How to use snapshot

1. Download the snapshot.

wget -O defundd-default.tar.lz4 https://eu2.contabostorage.com/37b215ac8ad5417c8ed656231f80e9bb:snapshot/defund%2Fdefundd-default.tar.lz4

2. Stop your node and reset data folder

If you’re running defundd binary directly using defundd.service systemd file, stop the service directly

sudo systemctl stop defundd

If you’re running via cosmovisor binary using cosmovisor.service systemd file, stop the cosmovisor service

sudo system stop cosmovisor

Reset your node’s data

defundd tendermint unsafe-reset-all –keep-addr-book

3. Unpack snapshot

Unpack the tar file into your data folder. If you follow the default setup, your data folder is located either in your home/<user>/.defund/data folder or /root/.defund and can be accessed via $HOME/.defund.

lz4 -c -d defundd-default.tar.lz4 | tar -x -C ~/.defund

4. Verify permission – optional step

Once you’ve unpacked the snapshot, verify and update the ownership of the data folder to the user you’re using as needed.

5. Restart your node
